Belts and Hoses
Your vehicle has many moving parts. Many original GM or Mopar belts and hoses help move nearly all of them. Hoses do the job with liquid pressure. Some good examples are your radiator hoses, which carry coolant between your radiator and engine, and heater core hoses, which force hot coolant across your HVAC system, warming your cabin. Others are the fuel hoses in older vehicles, which connect your gas tank and engine. Brake hoses, however, pass brake fluid through your brake lines to your brake calipers. That way, the calipers can press your brake pads, creating the friction required to slow and stop your vehicle. Belts, on the other hand, move most parts, from those that start and steer to those that heat and cool. Your crankshaft isn't the least among them. Serpentine and drive belts are great examples. They move alternator and power steering parts, for instance. Your timing belt or timing chain rotates your engines camshaft, properly pumping your engine valves and pistons. Many other factory belts and hoses do a lot more. Signs of belt and hose problems, however, include visible looseness, damage, chirping or screeching noises, fluid leaks, battery and interior lighting issues, engine misfires, overheats and failures, and general systems failures. The results: subpar vehicle performance or complete disablement. Change belts according to mileages in your owner's manual's maintenance schedules. Replace hoses at least every 4 years. You can order both Mopar and GM belts and hoses right from our auto parts counter. They'll be the genuine article, too just the right fit for your vehicle. Buy now and tackle your next DIY project!
